Argon Energy is the nations largest Private Power Company with a network of over 23 coal fire power stations across Australia. The Privisation of NSW’s Energy back in 2008 was marred by significant controversy and was an issue that divided the NSW State Government. Four years later, Argon Energy and our successful and close working relationship with Angela Boardmans NSW Government stands as a working testament to the fact that truly great things can be achieved when private and public stand together. Argon Energy would like to thank the leaders of yesterday for their foresight and vision – It wasn’t an easy decision, but we’re sure that everyone now agrees that it was the right one.
Sydney Seawind blows ill wind
Argon Energy has recently been in the public eye regarding our vocal objections to the planned controversial “Sydney Sea wind project”. Many of our customers have asked for us to outline why we have raised these objections in both the media and legal avenues – We think our reasons are pretty strong and after reading them, we’re sure you’ll agree. In relation to this issue, we want you to remember that Argon are acting on your behalf and in the interest of the general public above and beyond any perceived economical interests of our own.

Premier voices concern over Seawind Project
New South Wales Premier Angela Boardman (pictured) toady added her voice to the growing number of individuals and organizations that are concerned about the safety of the controversial planned Sydney Seawind project. Speaking at a community consultation meeting about the issue, hosted By Argon Energy the Premier raised doubts about the potential negative environmental impact of the project. The development which would see over 500 sixty metre high wind fans built 15km of the Sydney coast has been backed and supported by every major environmental group in Australia but slammed by certain levels of Government and interest groups.
“The point is we just don’t know yet what the potential negative impacts of such a development could be.” Said Boardman. “ I’ve seen results from many o the environmental impact studies that have been completed so far and heard the opinions of green peace and many of these so called think tanks, but say to them – I’m not willing to take the risk. Not when so much – when our environment, is what is really at stake here”
“The NSW State Government is already investing significantly in Clean Coal technology and research into alternative energies and until more research is done into this area of offshore wind farms we feel that it is prudent to err on the side of caution”
